One office. Both countries.
U.S. and Japanese tax, prepared together — by a professional licensed on both sides. For Americans living in Japan.
The problem we exist for
Most Americans living in Japan end up with two professionals who never speak to each other: a U.S. preparer who does not read the Japanese documents, and a Japanese tax accountant who does not file U.S. returns.
The foreign tax credit, the treaty position, the order in which income is recognised across two different tax calendars — these sit in the space between the two. That space is where the money is, and in most engagements nobody owns it.
This office was set up to own it.

Why one office matters
Licensed on both sides
A Japanese tax accountant (税理士) and a U.S. Certified Public Accountant, Washington State (active). Both returns are prepared under a single engagement.
Nothing falls through
Foreign tax credits, treaty positions and timing are decided once, with both returns in view, rather than twice by two people who never compare notes.
Written first
Every position is set out in writing before anything is filed, so you know what was claimed and on what basis.
